WASHINGTON - A happy ending to the Blizzard of 2011 for one Tazewell County family. Their dog, Sophie, was found by one of our viewers wandering in the blizzard in Washington.

The viewer e-mailed us and sent pictures to say she found someone's lost dog. Here at WMBD 31, we took action --- Sophie's owner says she saw her pooch on our 6:00pm newscast and tonight they're together again. Our crew was on hand for the happy reunion.

"I started crying... I was on the phone with WMBD, Sophie's owner Penny Wilson said. "Somebody on the phone, then the news came up again as I was asking questions. And there was Sophie. I was crying, the kids were excited."

"As bad as it was outside yesterday, I'm so glad that we found her," says Christina Soens. "She came to us and that we were able to get her back home."

Sophie's owner says she had given up hope that her dog made it through the snow storm. Sophie wandered about two miles away from her home.
