JENSEN BEACH, Fla. - A family has been reunited with their French Bulldog named "Carlos" after he went missing during a "pillowcase" style burglary to their Pinecrest Lakes home on Thursday.
Deputies are not sure if "Carlos" was taken in the burglary, or if he may have escaped through a door left open by the burglars, according to a spokesperson for the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
Once deputies realized the dog was missing, the search began. Deputies and Animal Care and Control Units scoured the area. Neighbors even offered to help find "Carlos" after seeing a post about the missing dog on the MCSO Facebook page.
A little over an hour after the search began, "Carlos" was found roaming around a few streets away from his house. The dog was then picked up and reunited with his family.
